The research of Jörn Mahlstedt’s thesis is about the question whether or not the smallest particles in the universe are in fact the smallest, or if there might be even smaller ones. I’m quite relieved I was in charge of the cover instead of the content.

Jörn’s wishes were clear: he wanted a design in which something mysterious would shine through from behind as if something was hidden. I, myself wanted to combine this graphic request with a visual translation of the word ‘excited’ from the title.
