FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION, MEMBERS’ DAY INVITATION Amsterdam, 2011
A handmade invitation for the Fair Wear Foundation member’s day. I was also asked to make a visual registration of this day.
The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an international verification initiative whose mission is to improve labor conditions in the garment industry by tracking companies, sharing expertise and using social dialogue.
For the invitations I wanted to show the difference between the minimum wage and the living wage of an average employee, by using a t-shirt as an infographic.
The small cut-out of fabric symbolizes the proportion of the proceeds the worker earns compared to the actual amount the consumer pays, represented by the entire t-shirt. The red stitch surrounding the hole symbolizes the living wage. The employees earn just 2 percent of the entire proceeds, while just 5 percent is needed!
